ANU Connect Ventures are managers for two funds aimed at early stage commercialisation projects with strong commercial potential: The Discovery Translation Fund, and the Seed Investment Fund.
Discovery Translation Fund
The Discovery Translation Fund (DTF) supports researchers, individuals and small companies in conducting vital proof-of-concept experiment to validate potential commercial operations. Investments from the DTF are:
- Typically $25-100,000
- Open to ANU, other ACT-based researchers, small enterprise and individuals
- Strong in commercial potential
- Milestone based
- Completed over 12 months
Seed Investment Fund
Seed Investments with ANU Connect Ventures are aimed at early-stage ventures with exceptional commercial potential. A detailed evaluation process will screen potential investments against criteria including:
- Anticipated high rate of return, growing domestic and international markets, and identifiable exit
- Realisation in a 3-8 year period
- Strong technical merit and IP position
- Realistic business plan and projections
- Potential benefit to the ACT
